Gordon Pope was a Director of both The Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Company and the Trust, and the Trust Chairman until his passing in December 2019. His son, Adrian Pope, donated a stylish wooden sculpture of the locomotive, presented to his father for his long-term support of the locomotive, to be presented each year to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to SNGLT. First awarded at the 2021 AGM, the recipients to date are as below:
