Photo: P455. The heavy corrosion of one of the leaking tubes removed from 60007. The smooth area on the left is where the tube was in the tube plate. A small hole can be seen in the tube just right of the that. The crack in the section in the tube plate was caused by the process of removing the tube. 18th June 2010.

Photo: P463. This photo shows most of the firebox and tubes with the brick arch, which will need replacement before the loco returns to the mainline. The current arch has been left in-place while work goes on in the boiler as it is used for standing on during fitting of the tubes. 27th August 2010.

Warming fire 9 Oct 2010

Photo: P464. At long last the loco is back in one piece and on 9th October 2010 a warming fire was lit. Steam tests are to be carried out during the following week and if all is well the loco will be back in action.
